Choosing a Wedding Photographer

For many individuals, having a record of their wedding that is permanent is important, and they will hire a professional wedding photographer who can get the job done. Many people worried about the costs that are associated with having professional wedding photography conducted.  Here are all the costs associated with having pro level quality pictures taken.

Maybe you’ve heard of candid photos, which is a fancy way of saying regular pictures which are taking at both the wedding and reception.  These are usually put into albums.  Many of these candid photos we put together in albums which can be sent to friends and family, and this will actually make up a majority of the costs associated with wedding photography.

Albums are also another cost consideration that factors into wedding photography charges, with the best albums being made by Art Leather, Capri, and Leather Craftsmen.  The pictures and the styles are permanently attached and the albums themselves are made of leather and will last a lifetime.

The reason you may want to splurge and go all out and purchase one of these expensive wedding albums is that photographers who use vinyl albums with plastic covered pages will usually find that these pictures will be damaged as the years go on.  If you want your wedding memories to last forever you may decide to prefer styles such as Waterhouse albums which run about $500 but have tear proof pages and covers which will last a lifetime.

A low cost alternative that you may want to look into art digital albums, and now photos can be printed right on an album’s page, so the wedding photographer does not have to go to ridiculous expense to purchase expensive albums when more can simply be created digitally.

The portraits themselves, such as those of a bridal portrait, also factor into wedding photography costs.  In the South, bridal portraits will usually be taken about a month before the wedding starts.  Some people also opt to have the engagement portraits taken, and usually the two expenses involved with this are the sitting fee and that of the portrait itself.

The session fee covers the photographers time for the session and the print charges are the costs it will take to edit, develop, and assemble the pictures.  Lastly, how much does a wedding photographer cost?  Fees range widely depending on professionalism, but in a rural area, you are looking at around $600 and in New England fees may be upwards of a few thousand dollars. Shopping around is advised to find the best deal but remember that you will usually get what you pay for and if you want quality then you had better be ready to pay up.
